Austin (AJ) Jeffrey Wayne Jordan (Robertson) – Austin left this earth on June 8, 2018 at the age of 18.
Austin was born June 30, 1999 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the first child of Shannon Schneider and Mike Robertson.
Austin moved from Iowa in 2002 to Montana, where he called Conrad home for several years. From there the family moved to Helena in 2004 where Austin went to elementary school, then the family moved to Townsend in 2011. Austin graduated from Broadwater Highschool in 2017, he worked as a stocker at Walmart and then as a Tire Technician for Townsend Tire in White Sulphur Springs.
Austin enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family, playing video games and spending time with his friends. Austin was never afraid to try new things which led him to have several interests and hobbies; he played basketball, football, track and was in speech and drama. He enjoyed playing the sousaphone in the high school pep band, he also spent countless hours learning to play the guitar. It wasn’t uncommon to find Austin having jam sessions with his friends or a lively night of Magic or Dungeons and Dragons. Austin was also in the Helena Youth Bowling club where he bowled an amazing near perfect game every Saturday! Austin was always teasing and joking around with his siblings and cousins! He was the family jokester and made any family gathering extra entertaining and fun. He was the oldest of all his siblings and according to Trysten “the best big brother ever.” Austin always wanted to be there for others even when he had little to give. He is truly leaving a legacy thru his final gift of organ donation.
Austin will be greatly missed by his mother Shannon Schneider (Adam), father Mike Robertson (Kristie Diedrich), siblings; Dulcie Robertson, Thatcher Robertson, Trysten Robertson, Tori Durnell, Zack Durnell, Zane Durnell; Grandparents Jeff & Carla Schneider, Glenn & Cheri’ Robertson; Great Grandparents; Duane & Charlotte Kunzler, Bev Rogers, Lois Ereth; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Austin is preceded in death by Chuck and Louise Schneider(grandparents), Stan Rogers(grandfather) Ralph and Bettie Robertson(grandparents) by several great grandparents.
A memorial fund is set up for Austin Jordan at the Opportunity Bank of Montana, Townsend Branch, donations can be made there in lieu of flowers. The celebration of AJ’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 18th at the Watson Event Center, 290 Litening Barn Rd Townsend, MT 59644. A reception will immediately follow at the Watson Event Center. Please visit below to offer a condolence to the family or share a memory of Austin.

I will never forget sharing this quote with him last year, before he graduated. “Our hearts, they need a mirror. We see our better selves in the eyes of those who love us. It is a beauty that brevity alone provides.” I shared this quote with him because it was something that made me happy, and I shared it with the hopes that it would make him happy, too. I hope that it did, because he drew me a flower and gave me a quote back the next day, as we were riding the bus home. I will hold onto that picture for the rest of my life, wishing I could’ve had the chance to say thank you. We love you, AJ. <3
