Cheri was born August 17, 1960, in Ames, Iowa to Walter and Mary (Ratcliffe) Dupea. She graduated from Grandview Park Baptist School in 1978. She worked nights for Bourn until she moved to Montana to help start up pizza stores with her brother Rex. She was a very successful business owner. After selling her business in Missoula she started another career, working with adults with disabilities. She truly had a heart for them. She worked in Kalispell and then moved to North Dakota and worked training the disabled.
In 2009 she started working with Cor Ent. Of Central Mt., in Billings. During her time at COR, she ran a community program that she took great pride in. She poured her heart into making the program as enjoyable as possible for everyone. She had a way of finding and pursuing new activities for the program that every individual enjoyed. Cheri made many relationships with parents, community members, co-workers and really anyone that met her. Cheri’s strong work ethic and dedication to COR and the clients did not go unnoticed. She came to work every day, seldom missing a day, with enthusiasm and an eagerness to get things done. She was someone that people could count on for just about anything. Cheri made an incredible impact on those around her. She was a remarkable person that we were all lucky enough to have met. She developed her own program and was very proud of it. Covid hit Cheri very hard, and she spent 5 months in the hospital. She was not able to work much and could only do part time. Cheri really desired to continue working but her body just would not let it happen. However, she still found ways to volunteer at any opportunity.
Cheri loved animals, especially her dogs. They were her “kids”. She loved to rescue them. I don’t remember a time when she didn’t have at least one dog. German Shepherds seemed to be her favorite.
Cheri also loved to go to concerts. The Oak Ridge Boys were her favorite group. She would stand in line all night to get a front row seat. All the “boys” knew Cheri by name and were always excited to see her in her front row seat.
Cheri was preceded in death by her mother Mary and father Walt and a brother Eddie.
She is survived by her stepmother Floella Gardner Dupea of Kalispell, three brothers Rex of Billings, Monte (Echo) of Bigfork and half-brother Teddy. Two sisters Angela (Rob) Fisher of Kalispell and half-sister Lori. She has numerous Nieces and Nephews, Aunts and Uncles. And her special dog Daisy
