Danny Joe Larson
On the evening of April 30th, 2013, Danny passed away at his home in Townsend, MT as a result of a heart attack. Danny was 58 years old.
Danny Larson was born in the town of Watertown, South Dakota on August 24, 1954. He was the second son of Gale Larson and Beverly Alguire.
Danny graduated from Billings West High School in 1973. He went on to achieve his Welding Certification from Billings Post-Secondary in 1974.
Danny served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1978 on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Danny was rewarded “Sailor of the month” in November 1975 for the Helicopter Combat Support Squadron One. He received an Aviation Structural Mechanic Second Class in the United States Navy.
Following his time in the Navy Danny worked for RY Timber in Townsend MT as a Crane Operator for 17 years.
Danny’s hobbies included hunting, leather work, raising livestock, gardening and listening to classic rock. He was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Gale Larson, and mother, Beverly Alguire.
Danny is survived by his brothers Lonnie and Roger Larson, sons Randy (Rebekah) and Dustin Larson, and granddaughters Calysta and Elyse Larson.
A graveside service with military honor’s will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison in Helena, MT. There will be a potluck memorial gathering at the Fish Tale Tavern in Townsend, MT at 3pm.
