On February 16, 2018, David Herbert Frazier, 72, passed away from an extended illness. He went peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side.
David was born July 30, 1945 in Middletown, Ohio to Herbert Edward Frazier and May Snell Frazier.
He attended school in Middletown and after graduation went to work as a police officer, following in the footsteps of his father.
David attended college in Miles City, Montana, Miami University in Middletown and Washington City College, Washington DC.
He met and married Margaret Hunter in Washington DC.
They moved to Montana where daughter, Jessica was born. The couple later divorced.
David worked 30 years for the State of Montana Worker’s Compensation Division and the Department of Labor and Industry.
David married Laura Sullivan in 1983 and they have 2 daughters, Hannah and Sarah. The family lived in Winston for 33 years in an old home David lovingly remodeled. David was a gifted woodcraftsman and he built many pieces for family through the years.
Upon retirement, David devoted himself to his passions, including his family, carpentry and many church ministries. He served as a Gideon and was a member of Promise Keepers and Honor Bound where he did winterization projects for low income households. In 2008 he traveled with a church group to Moldova and helped construct the “House of Hope” for women and children rescued from the sex trade.
David and Laura moved to Townsend in 2016. As David’s illness progressed and stole his voice, he always had the sweetest smile for his family and caregivers, but especially for his grandson Lucas.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Laura, daughters, Jessica, Hannah and Sarah Frazier, beloved grandson Lucas David, sister, Joan Holliday, niece and nephews, Dawn McBride, Justin Detienne, Drew Holliday and their families, father and mother in law, Tom and Millie Sullivan, sister and brothers-in-law Jenny Bloom, Tom, Charlie and Pat Sullivan and their families.
The family would like to thank Vince Boster, our dear friend, and Mickie, Karissa, Linda, Rachel and Deidre from St. Peter’s Hospice for the wonderful care you gave David.
There will be a Celebration of David’s life at a later date when the family can all be together.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Hospice or God’s Love Homeless Shelter.
