Edward Henry Strong, age 88, of Winston formerly of Bremerton, WA

March 6, 1936 – December 30, 2024

Edward Henry Strong, age 88, of Winston, Montana died early Monday morning December 30, 2024, in Townsend, Montana.

Edward was born in Waukegan, Illinois, March 6, 1936, to James Henry and Dorothy A. (Laurent) Strong. Edward, following his high school education, joined the US Army to serve his country on August 22, 1958, and was honorably discharged August 21, 1961. Edward met Veda Ellen Taylor and were married September 15, 1962.

Edward worked many various jobs during his working career. He worked at the Smelter in Great Falls; the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard near Bremerton, WA; he and his wife Veda owned and operated the Ramble Inn Bar in Sun River, Montana; he also worked at Bangor Marine Naval Base in Silverdale, WA; and as a janitor for schools in the Bremerton School District.

Edward was a life member of the American Legion and loved to play cards, do puzzles and go to Buffalo Wild Wings where he loved the people and enjoyed a game of cards in the midafternoon.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife Veda; son, Roger Strong; sister, Mary and brother, James.

Edward is survived by his children, Barbra Weidell, Edward Charles Strong and his wife Carolyn, Richard Michael Strong and his wife Susan and Randy James Strong and his wife Renee; daughter-in-law, Dayna Strong; grandchildren, Michael Strong, Joy Strong, Jamie Bean, Zachary Strong, Sarah Wies, Ryan Strong, Andrea Funderburg, Alisa Bell, Shannon Petersen, Heather Heublein and Matthew Strong; great grandchildren, Ezekiel Strong, Elijah Strong, Emmett Strong, Asher Fujioka, Ayden Fujioka, Shannon Taylor, Jamison Bean, Ronin Bean, Damian Bean, Dante Rodgers, James Weis, Freya Eldridge, Mayah Arnold, Novah Petersen, Lorelai Heublein, Connor Heublein, Jaden Witty, Olivia Witty and Kailey Bell. He is also survived by extended family, Krystal and Alan Rogers.

No formal funeral service will be held at this time. Edward will be buried with military honors at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton WA at a later date.
