Joye was born November 29, 1928 in Canton, Montana, the daughter of Cornelius and Minnie Lynch. She attended schools in Townsend and went on to receive a degree in Accounting from Kinman Business College in Spokane. She married her high school sweetheart Fred Meyer on November 5, 1949 and at the time of his death in 2008 they had celebrated 59 years of marriage. They spent their entire life together ranching in the Townsend area/
Together Fred and Joye worked tirelessly in the restoration of St. Joseph Catholic Church and were instrumental in getting it placed on the National Historic Register. The old Church stands on a hill over looking the valley they called home for so long.
She was a 4-H leader for many years and was very active in her church and Altar Society until her health declined in later years. She was a member for over 65 years of the James Lynch VFW Post, which was named for her brother, and was also a life long member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mom was never happier than when surrounded by her family, friends and her beautiful flowers. Known for her Irish humor and determination in the face of adversity, she was loved by all who knew her. Her door was always open and there was always room for one more at the table.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, daughters, Martha Jean and Margaret Ann, brothers, Jim Lynch and John Lynch and sisters, Grace Lynch, Lois Kackley, Pauline Kline and Claudine Ulmer.

I was sorry to hear about Joye’s passing. I worked at Broadwater Health Center in the activities department and that is how I met Joye. She was so much fun and always so upbeat. We had long conversations about books we had read-she said she loved to read. Praying for your family.
