Gary Marvin Frisbie, 92, of White Sulphur Springs passed away on August 18th, 2022 at Mountainview Medical Center.
Gary left the family home in Minnesota at 15 years of age and hopped on a train. He ended up in Montana working at dairy farms to earn money to send home to help feed his family. He then joined the Marine Corps and was on his way to the Korean War. After being discharged from the Marine Corps he went on to work as a telephone lineman for 30 years. After retirement Gary stayed busy working on ranches and doing construction. Gary married Karen Anderson, July 14, 1957. They were married for 53 years until her passing in 2010. In Gary’s younger days he enjoyed dancing, bridge, reading and snowmobiling. In recent years Gary loved his long walks. Gary’s proudest moment was when he received his GED on and his biggest headache was trying to figure out how to keep the deer from eating his flowers.
Gary is survived by his children Ron (Brenda) Frisbie, Shari (Roger) Guenther and Sandi Carlson, Billings. Gary is also survived by his grandchildren, Caitlin Frisbie, Missoula, Tyler (Alyssa) Frisbie, Whitehall, Lindsey (Aaron) Blaine, Belgrade, Ryan Guenther, Belgrade, Jeremy (Bekah) Carlson, Billings, Hilary (Truman) Neprud, Billings. Gary’s family would like to thank the nursing staff at Mountainview Medical Center for the compassion and kindness they gave dad during his final days. Also, thank you to his many neighbors and friends who were there for him. Tim McGraw’s song, “Humble and Kind”, is the best way to describe our dad. Rest in peace, Dad, we love you.

So sad that I will not see Gary on his faithful every morning walk west of White Sulphur Springs anymore. He was such a kind, gentleman. I delivered the Billings Gazette to him in the late 50’s early 60’s. He always greeted me with kind words & a smile. Sincere condolences go out to his family

Glad to see memorials going to the library. Gary and I compared and talked books many times. Will be sad not to see him on his daily walks. You are all in my prayers.

I remember him at the “telephone guy.” I also enjoyed talking to him when we would meet on daily walks. I admired his tenacity to keep walking while in his 90’s. Going to miss him!
