George “Ed” Edward Culler IV, age 80 of White Sulphur Springs

George Edward (Ed) Culler passed away January 22, 2024, of natural causes. Ed was born in White Sulphur Springs, Montana on August 14, 1943, to George and Fern Culler. He lived on Birch Creek, and in the White Sulphur Springs Valley. He attended White Sulphur Springs schools but got his real education from his dad on the ranch. He always said, “why do I have to go to school to become a cowboy.”

When he was a young boy, he used to ride his stick horse all around Birch Creek hills. As he got older, he worked on ranches, and then in sawmills and mines in various locations throughout western Montana. After that he moved to eastern Montana and became a truck driver for the next 40 years. The highlight of this past year was driving one of Jason Collins trucks in the 4^th of July parade. And watching Jason’s children, the little smokers as Ed called them, grow.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Anna Culler, and Frank and Lela Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Harris; sisters Vera Sickick, Jane Culler, and Linda Culler; and one brother Marty Culler. Also, daughter and son-in-law Julianne (Arthur Lillyblad), including granddaughter Correnna Cooper, great granddaughter Gracie, and grandson Dennis Wind, Marcy Fremont, and Becky McGraw. Ed will be missed by many special friends. He was well liked and loved to tease and tell stories.

Services will be held Saturday January 27^th at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs. Visitation will be between 1pm-2pm with services starting at 2:00. Burial will take place at Mayn Cemetery, with coffee hour following at the Senior Center. Condolences in Ed’s memory can be shared at www.stevensonwilke.com.
