Glenn Walter Jared, age 58, of Townsend died from complications of Congestive Heart Failure Friday, December 27, 2013 in Townsend.
Glenn was born at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 2, 1955 to Hugh and Alice Vivian (McCarl) Jared. Glenn received his education in Iowa and also attended Iowa Western Community College in automotive study. He was an employee of Shaffer’s Store in Council Bluffs from 1969 to 1973; Council Bluffs School District from 1973 to 1999 and Jim Earp in Omaha, Nebraska from 1983 to 1989. Glenn moved to Townsend in 1999 and worked for Don Shearer and Joel and Peggy Flynn from 2000 to 2004. Glenn started working for Van’s Thriftway in Helena from 2003 to 2007 prior to working for Bob’s Supermarket in Townsend from 2007 to his passing. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, war movies and working on vehicles.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Flath. He is survived by his son, Daniel Wallace Jared and daughter, Brenda Lee Jared; grandchildren, Zachary Taylor Koch, Chase Alan Vogl, his dogs, Sarge and Sam.
The family will begin receiving friends at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 212 Broadway Street in Townsend. Glenn was a great friend of mine ,he would always be their for me ,always asked me if their was anything he could do for me . He truly cared . I have great respect for him . I am so glad Dan came to Townsend to spend time with him . It gave him great joy , he is a very proud father as he should be Dan is a wonderful young man .I will miss Glenn very much and keep him close to my heart for all time .
