On the evening of August 22, 2023 Janice Lee Giffin passed away at home surrounded by her immediate family. Janice was 88 years old.
Janice was born on January 5, 1935, in Boise, Idaho to Myron Murphy Ray and Alice Margurite Potter.
She grew up in logging camps, moving frequently, yet always had fond memories of playing in the woods. Janice left home early and married young, a marriage which gave her three children: Gary, Donald and baby David. The marriage was abandoned, and she was left alone with the boys. She then met Donald Eugene Giffin and they married in 1958 and had a son Ronald Giffin.
Janice, Donald and the boys lived in Oregon, Idaho and Washington, moving frequently for Donald’s work. Janice enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and spending time in the great outdoors with Don and her boys. They enjoyed spending time with Don’s Sister Patsy and her 7 children, who were all loved greatly by their Aunt Janice.
Janice’s husband and three sons Gary, Donald and David all predeceased her. After Donald’s passing, she moved in with her son Ronald Giffin and his wife Shauna. She spent several years in Washington and Montana with them. Her son Ronald and his wife Shauna survived her, along with her recently reunited brother David Ray and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chayse Roberts, Levi Giffin, Monica Sykora and Vicki Lamb and several great-grand babies.
Janice enjoyed gardening, sewing beautiful quilts and loved her dogs as she called them her “babies.” She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds whenever she could. Janice attended the United Methodist Church in Clancy Montana as long as she could and cherished her faith and friendships there. She was an avid card player and loved her weekly card games with her close family friends Valerie and KP Palmer and Rick and Jannice Odermann.
Janice was a frequent donor to the local humane society, food share programs and had compassion for any person in need.
We would like to extend a special Thank you to Compassus Hospice Group for helping Janice to complete her journey to pass at home. Thank you for your loving support and care to our family.

So sorry for loss Shauna and Ron. I still have the nice covid masks and the cute potholders she made. May she rest in peace.
