Jean Burnett passed away unexpectedly in her home in Titusville, Florida on March 29, 2019. Jean was born October 22, 1929 in Ennis, MT to Frank and Katie Madison and spent her youth growing up throughout the state.
Jean is survived by one sister, Marjorie Sanders of Helena; a son, Richard (Rick) of Jacksonville, Florida, and four daughters; Gaylene (Rader) Curtis, Townsend, Montana; Fonda (Myles) Hibbard, Marana, Arizona; Rita (Myles) Carlson, Titusville, Florida, and Linda (Myles) Olson from Tucson, Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two husbands, Pat Pennington of Townsend and and Vic Burnett of Palouse, Washington. While married to Pat Pennington, they owned the Shady Rest Trailer Park on Cherry Street and Starett’s Bar, which they renamed to The Pines. She left Townsend in 1977 and moved to Clarkston, Washington, from there to Palouse, Washington, and finally to Florida to be close to some of her children.
Jean went back to school and earned her nursing degree in the early 1960’s, was active in the Rebecca’s while in Townsend. She always loved music and was a self-taught musician. After retirement, Jean became very active in the Washington Fiddlers.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13th at Holy Cross Cemetery. Following the graveside service there will be a reception at the home of Gayle Curtis. Please visit below to offer a condolence or share a memory of Jean.
