Kenny attended the Lennep School through eighth grade and then went to Harlowton High School, where he graduated in 1961. Soon after college, Kenny enlisted in the United States Navy; he served as Secretary to the Admiral of his destroyer fleet while deployed to the Vietnam War.
After returning home, he was involved with the Voldseth Ranch and partnered with his younger brother David until 1985. Later he moved to Martinsdale with his lifelong partner Vonnie Pedersen, and he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he carried mail throughout the many rural routes of the Martinsdale area.
Kenny was a life-long member of the Lennep Trinity Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion. He was the President of the Martinsdale Water and Sewer District, a Martinsdale Volunteer Fire Fighter, and was active in the Republican Party, where he served as a National Delegate. He strongly supported the Montana Stockgrowers Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
Survivors are Vonnie Pedersen, siblings Gary (Marilyn) Voldseth, David (June) Voldseth, Susan (Larry) Rice, and Vonnie’s children Connie Schmock and Tina Brandt.
