In Memory Of

Kenneth George Voldseth, age 79, of Martinsdale

April 14, 1943 – September 1, 2022

Kenneth (Kenny) George Voldseth was born in Helena, Montana, on April 14, 1943, to George and Karen  (Grande) Voldseth. Kenny passed away on September 1, 2022, at his home in Martinsdale, MT, of natural causes.

Kenny attended the Lennep School through eighth grade and then went to Harlowton High School, where he graduated in 1961. He then attended Montana State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Business in 1966. Soon after college, Kenny enlisted in the United States Navy; he served as Secretary to the Admiral of his destroyer fleet while deployed to the Vietnam War.

After returning home, he was involved with the Voldseth Ranch and partnered with his younger brother David until 1985. Later he moved to Martinsdale with his lifelong partner Vonnie Pedersen, and he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he carried mail throughout the many rural routes of the Martinsdale area.

Kenny was a life-long member of the Lennep Trinity Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion. He was the President of the Martinsdale Water and Sewer District, a Martinsdale Volunteer Fire Fighter, and was active in the Republican Party, where he served as a National Delegate. He strongly supported the Montana Stockgrowers Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

Survivors are Vonnie Pedersen, siblings Gary (Marilyn) Voldseth, David (June) Voldseth, Susan (Larry) Rice, and Vonnie’s children Connie Schmock and Tina Brandt. Vonnie’s grandchildren, including Thomas (Megan) Schmock, Kiefer Feeback, Trevor (Braidy) Schmock, Brooke (Tyler) West, and Colton Brandt. Many nieces, nephews, and four great-grandsons. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, George and Karen Voldseth, and brother Ronny.

Funeral services are at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lennep, MT, at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, September 11, 2022. A burial service with military honors immediately followed at the Lennep Cemetery. Please join the family afterward for fellowship and lunch at the Martinsdale Community Aid.
