After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Lana passed away on the morning of July 31, 2015, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, MT, with her husband by her side. Lana was 68 years old.
Lana was born February 21, 1947, in Watertown, South Dakota. She was the fifth child of Walter and Maxine (Tenney) Reoh. In her youth, she loved making mud pies with eggs from her Aunt Jetta’s chicken coop, figure skating, and jumping off the high dive. She earned the nickname “Lana Banana Jelly Bread Reoh” from eating so much jelly bread. She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with her dad.
Lana and her family moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, where she met the love of her life, Donald Meisenheimer. Lana and Donald were married on May 1, 1964, and recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. They had 4 children. In 1986, they moved to Townsend, Montana.
Lana’s interests included knitting and crocheting, collecting elephant figurines (with the trunks up for good luck), going to garage sales, and taking long drives with her husband. She had a great fondness for animals. Strays would find their way to her door, and she wished she could save them all. Lana spent the remainder of her life enjoying her beloved grandchildren.
Lana was preceded in death by her son, Donald Eugene Meisenheimer; father, Walter Reoh; and her sister, Sharon Brekke. She is survived by her mother, Clara Maxine Reoh, of Townsend, Montana; husband, Donald Keith Meisenheimer, of Townsend, Montana; son, Donald Keith Meisenheimer, Jr. (Lisa Gaskill), of Davis, California, and their children William and Anna Seahill; daughter, Sheri Todd, of Polson, Montana, and her children, Kayla Meisenheimer and Lauren Todd; daughter, Sarah Piggott (Chris Urban), of Lake Tapps, Washington, and their children Schuyler Piggott and Zane Urban; and great-granddaughter, Karley Stanley of Polson, Montana; her cat “Shadow Kitty”. Lana is also survived by sister, Karen Bradley, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brother, Charles (Barb) Reoh, of Rapid City, South Dakota; and sister, Ramona Maddox, of Townsend, Montana.
A celebration of Lana’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29th, at Indian Campground in Townsend, Montana. There will be a potluck and releasing of balloons. Memorials in Lana’s name are suggested to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, Montana, 59604.

I want to give you my deepest sympathies for the loss of your loved one. May your family receive comfort from God’s word that he too hates death 1 Corinthians 15:26 and that someday you will see Lana again John 5: 28, 29.
Again I’m deeply sorry for your loss.

Grammy I love you and miss you so much my heart hurts, but i know you are no longer in pain and like you told me you can’t just sit up there not doing anything. You will keep busy you have your family up there and you can watch over us now. I promise to bite my tongue when needed and say words when appropriate. Something you taught me 🙂 I will carry on your love for elephants and will smile that you gave me so much love not only to me, but to everyone else in our family and friends.
