Linda Cobban, 75, passed away November 1, 2015 after a courageous battle with diabetes.
Linda was born December 8, 1939 in Townsend to Warren and Anna Belle Doughty. She spent her childhood in Radersburg with her mother and her cousins. They spent many happy hours picnicking at Webb’s Grove and Crow Creek, sleigh riding and playing in the playhouse. She moved to Townsend in 1957 with her mother.
Linda married Robert Cobban on March 28, 1959, living on the family ranch in Winston for 56 years. She raised 4 children. She loved to can and make candy for her neighbors. She supported various children’s organizations and the disable veterans. Linda loved to do crossword puzzles and was active in the restoration of the Radersburg School. Linda collected and organized several historically correct scrapbooks. She was the go to person for dates of events in Broadwater County, particularly the Radersburg area.
She spent her later years enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her faithful companion Zoe and her 2 cats.
Linda was survived by a daughter Jo Griffith, of Great Falls, a son John (Nancy) of Jefferson City, a son Bert of Lehr, ND, and a son Brad (Erin) of Winston. Nine grandchildren, Sommer (Cody), Shaun (Rosanna) and Kady, Amanda (Louis), Kimberly (Seth), Stephanie, Meagan, Kaden and Wyatt. Also 6 great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Anna Belle, a daughter Patty Sue and a son-in-law Miles.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Radersburg School, Radersburg, Montana. Memorial donations in Linda’s name can be made to the Radersburg Historical Preservation, INC, P.O. Box 96, Toston, Mt 59643.
