Lois Jean Olsen, age 69, of Townsend, passed away June 27, 2019 at her home in Townsend from Parkinson’s.
Lois was born on January 21, 1950 in Townsend, MT to William Wayne and Irene Hilda (Johnson) Herrington.
Lois graduated from Broadwater High School and married Gary D. Olsen on August 8, 1969 in Townsend. Through her life, Lois and Gary owned a Motel in Long Beach, WA from 1987 to 1997. She then went on to work at the Sun Valley Indian School in AZ from 1997 to 2006 and then at Camp Pine Rock in Prescott, AZ from 2006 to 2007. Lois then worked as a cook at the Broadwater Health Center in Townsend from 2007 until her retirement in 2012.
Lois enjoyed sewing and going to the mountains and looking at wildlife. She attended Elkhorn Community Church in Townsend.
Lois is survived by her husband, Gary D. Olsen; her children, Irene Olsen of Townsend, MT and Glenn Olsen of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by her siblings, Lillian Arden, Ernie Herrington, Wayne Herrington, Kathy Hill, and Helena Prevel. She is also survived by a grandchild, Griffin Olsen.
