Mary Lou Meyer, 79, passed away on April 9, 2013 at the Broadwater Health Center in Townsend, MT, surrounded by her family and the love of her friends.
Mary Lou was born on April 29, 1933 in Townsend at the A.B. Cook Ranch to Wallace (Bill) and Effie Bristow. She grew up as a tomboy spending time with her dad enjoying the great outdoors, cattle, hayfields and horses. She attended Broadwater County schools, graduating in 1951. In 1952, she married her sweetheart and best friend of sixty years, Marvin Meyer. From this union came three sons, Mark, Matt and Mike who were the light of their parent’s lives. Hospital and she retired as a private bus contractor. Upon retirement, she and Marvin turned into snowbirds enjoying the Arizona desert and traveling for fifteen winters until poor health forced them to stay home. Mary Lou enjoyed many life-long friendships and always had a cup of coffee, a smile and a cheerful word for whomever stopped by. She enjoyed camping, card games, crafts, and her grandchildren. Mary Lou was a member of Townsend Women’s Bowling League, Pinochle Card Club and was an active member of the Holy Cross Catholic Parish.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin, sons Mark (Liann) , Matt (Tonda), Mike (Alice), grand-children; Clint (Tiffany) Meyer, Keirstin Cantanio, Michelle (Greg) Scott, Brad Tillett, Holly (Jim) Dyk, Tracy (Derek) Mahlum, Logan Meyer, Kyle Meyer, Kelsey (Mike) Hanson, Magdelene Meyer and Isaac Meyer , seven great grand-children, sister Ruth Christie, sister-in- law Aileen Bristow and numerous nieces and nephews.
