Michael J. Paulsen, age 50 of White Sulphur Springs

Michael J. “Mike” Paulsen, 50, passed away October 26, 2018, in Helena, Montana after a heroic battle with a chronic illness. He was born on January 4, 1968 in Columbus, MT to Jay and Myrna Paulsen. Mike graduated from Manhattan High School then joined the Air Force in January 1988. During his service he was stationed in Georgia while he toured a year in Korea.

Mike was married to Cyndi Fisher of Manhattan in August 1988. Together they had two kids, Kayla and TJ. Later divorcing Mike stayed in White Sulphur to work for the family firework business. Then later he relocated to Helena, Montana.

Mike was an avid sportsman who loved everything from rodeo, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, to watching John Wayne movies. His two biggest accomplishments were his two kids, he loved them dearly. He enjoyed traveling to support them in all their events. Mike was well known for always having a good time even if it meant giving a friendly hand gesture. Mike was a 20-year cancer survivor that never gave up fighting even through the side effects. He was a strong and brave man, he will be missed by so many.

Mike’s survivors include his father and mother, Jay Paulsen (Krys) and Myrna Paulsen, his brother, Shawn Paulsen (Brenda), sister, Keri Lander, daughter Kayla Miller (Jeramie), son TJ Paulsen (Cooper), his grandmother Louise Wagner, 3 grandchildren Christian, Aidan and Lyndi, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3rd at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 103 E. Garfield in White Sulphur Springs. Graveside services will follow at the Mayn Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Roadhouse immediately following the graveside services. The family asks for donations to be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
