Myrtle J. Geisser entered Heaven joyfully June 15, 2020. She was 95 years young, born March 4, 1925 in Bozeman, Montana. She had a joyful childhood in Logan, attended high school in Manhattan; and graduated with a degree in nursing from St. Patrick’s in Missoula. Being a registered nurse was her heart’s calling. She was loved and will be remembered for her kindness and compassionate care at Broadwater Hospital spanning 47 years. After retirement, she enjoyed 5 years as Dr. Nick Campbell’s nurse in his clinic. This time with him was a lifelong gift of friendship that she cherished. Her faith in God was the one constant in her life and she had an unshakeable certainty that He was the Lord of us all. Her belief in Him was the thread Mom was woven out of. She wanted to go home, so this is a very glorious time for her and a huge comfort to all who knew and loved her. There was no mold for Mom; she was “fearfully and wonderfully made” by the hands of God. Mom was a perfect mother. She loved her children infinitely. Her life was abundant in love and compassion and her children and grandchildren remain her proudest accomplishment.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Townsend. She joyfully served that church in choir and with her wonderful piano playing; holding various offices and as a member of UNMW.
She leaves her memories and legacy to her children; Carol Schenk(Dennis), Mark Geisser(Marcie), Fred Geisser (Kristi), Penny Hohn (Mark), and John Geisser (Amy) ; twenty two grandchildren, forty nine great-grandchildren ,eight nieces and nephews and their families, and countless friends who brought her so much joy.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents Halliday and Emma Johnston, siblings Hal Johnston (Thelma), Jean Schalbrack (Andy), Carol Biggs (Bill), husband Fred, infant son, daughter Susie, and son Robert.
Her celebration of life will be at the Christion Missionary Alliance Church in Townsend at 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 20.
Memorials in Mom’s name can be made to Visions Beyond Borders.
She would want everyone attending to come in joy. She was loved beyond measure.
