Dementia took its toll and Norma Rose Eggers passed away at 4:20 AM on 4.20.2018 at Shelby House II in East Helena at the age of 86. She was born on June 14, 1931, in Missoula, Montana to Mary Willard and Willis Jon Griffing. She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1949. Norma married Duane Dee Eggers on August 4, 1951 in Missoula and they were blessed with three daughters Paula, Danette (Dani) and (Mary) Melissa. They attended Bethel Baptist Church in Missoula.
Norma had accepted Jesus as her Savior as a teenager in Missoula and was an example of a Christian wife, mom and friend.
In 1964 the family moved to Lolo into a home built by the family. While there they attended Lolo Community Church. They lived in that home for 50 years, before moving with her husband to White Sulphur Springs in 2015 to be closer to family. Recently she was moved to a memory care home in East Helena.
The family joke was how she went to work for Sears in December of 1964, just for the Christmas holiday, and retired in 1991!
One of her proudest accomplishments was that she was able to donate her platelets to the Red Cross 287 times. She so wanted to reach 300!
She loved going on the “girl’s trips” with her daughters, her sister Donna and niece Wendi. Those 13 trips were filled with lots of laughter and memories.
She loved gardening and hanging her clothes out on the clothesline. She also enjoyed her weekly visits and tea with her very good friend Jacque Daniel.
She is survived by her husband Duane, East Helena, daughters Paula (Ed) of White Sulphur Springs, MT, Danette (Gary) of Arvada, CO, and Melissa (Jack) of Marysville, WA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Samantha (Adam) Dolezal, Kris (Jen) Kautz, Angie (Chad) Evans, Nick (Ashley) Dolezal, Kelsey (Zach) Wilbern, Kimmy (AJ) Burns and Mike (Tara) Dolezal. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; AJ Star, Ella Wilbern, Tyler Evans, Augusta Evans, Easton Wilbern, Corbin Burns, Emmitt Wilbern, Evie Kautz, and Barrett Burns. She is also survived by her very special niece (4th daughter) Wendi Fuller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Donna Lu Kramer and Mary Alice Jones, her granddaughter Sadie Leigh Rasmussen.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 28th, 2:00 PM at the Mountainview Community Church in White Sulphur Springs. Burial will follow at the Mayn Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church.
