In Memory Of

Norman “Lee” Nelson, age 82, of White Sulphur Springs

April 27, 1936 – December 13, 2018

On the morning of December 13, Norman “Lee” Leroy Nelson, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 82. Lee Nelson was born on April 27, 1936 in White Sulphur Springs, MT, to parents Norman and Pansy Nelson.

Lee attended school in White Sulphur Springs. He would spend his time in the mountains and on the rivers with his grandfather hunting, fishing, and gathering cones to sell.  At age 17, Lee entered into the United States Navy.  He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged.

On March 10, 1962, Lee was united in marriage to Connie Lewis. Together they were blessed with 2 children: Rick and Vicki, joined by brother Randy.

Lee will be remembered as a “Jack of all trades” by the people he touched. Lee and Connie were proprietors of the Frontier Club in Three Forks, the Beaumont in Belgrade, and The Barber Shop and JA Beauty Supply in Bozeman.  On their last adventure they owned and operated the Lane Bar in White Sulphur Springs. This is where Lee was able to offer his guidance and humor whether it was welcomed or not.

Lee will be remembered for the lives he influenced, the advice he offered, and the ability to fix anything for all of his family and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; Norman and Pansy Nelson and sister Jan Severson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Connie Nelson; children Randy (Lei) Nelson, Rick (Audrey) Nelson, Vicki (Jeff) Allen; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother Bob Cashdollar; and sisters Frances Anhorn, Candy Stout, and Linda Nelson.

    Connie and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Lee’s sudden death. He was always such a kind and jovial person. He always put up with crazy kids and never had a cross word for any of us. As for me, I remember him with much affection.

    Connie and Family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. I will always remember Lee as a childhood and forever friend to my uncle (Fred Frost), as well as my mother’s (Annette – daughter of Florence) cousin. The stories I heard about him described his character. I am happy I got to know him a bit in the more recent years past. My sincere condolences as well as thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad and trying time.
