PAULINE ADAMS WEBB
Pauline, 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Missoula’s St. Patrick’s Hospital of natural causes.
Pauline was born August 28, 1920 on the family farm near Athelstan in Taylor County, Iowa, to Elbert Rolland and Allaseba Emma Forward Adams. As a young girl, she lived with her family in Iowa and Missouri. She graduated from Blockton High School in 1938 where she was active in sports particularly girl’s basketball. She received her teaching certificate soon after graduating and started teaching in local one-room schools.
In the Spring of 1940, Pauline met a Montana cowboy, Earl Webb, from the Crow Creek Valley in Broadwater County, Montana, while he was visiting relatives in Taylor County. On December 28, 1940, she married Earl at the Blockton Christian Church, gave up her teaching job because married women couldn’t teach, and moved to Broadwater County.
Earl and Pauline were married 60 years and enjoyed being part of the ranching community. Pauline worked with her husband, taught school in Crow Creek and Radersburg, was a 4-H leader, was active in the United Methodist Church, Garden Club, Cattlewomen, Red Hat, Bridge Club, Bowling Club, Lewis and Clark Crimson Bluffs Chapter, Book Chat, and Broadwater County Historical Museum to name a few. She was a member of Esther Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star. She participated in the development of Agriculture in Schools for Montana programs, was an ambassador for the program at national conventions, and was State secretary for many years.
Pauline was passionate about education, agriculture, and volunteering and loved her friends and her family. She was a life-long learner. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, sewing, crocheting, bridge, reading, music, and travel.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers, John and Warren, and sister, Gretchen. She is survived by children Jim (Sidney), Sue (Mike), and Ray (Rosemary), 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 7 honorary great/grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris Bruns says
Pauline was an incredible woman. Few people can hope to touch as many lives as she. She lead a full and wonderful life and is a real inspiration. We will miss her very much.
Jody Wills says
Always a lady, and worked so tirelessly on behalf of agriculture, particularly the beef industry. I looked forward to CattleWomen state meetings when I would see Pauline and learn from her vast knowledge of how to present our story–
