Randi Kathryn Nehring passed away on December 12, 2016, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, MT, surrounded by her beloved husband and children. She was 70 years old.
Randi was born in Boone, Iowa, on August 23, 1946, to Don and Ruth Davis. She was raised in the small town of Liscomb, Iowa, next door to a little boy who would eventually become her husband. She graduated from BCL High School in Conrad, Iowa, in 1964.
On February 11, 1967, she married the boy next door and the love of her life, Calvin Nehring. In 1968, their son Jeffrey was born, followed by their daughter Kimberly in 1972. Cal and Randi raised their children in Iowa until 1978 when they relocated to Townsend, Montana, to be close to Randi’s family and to enjoy the beauty and activities in Montana.
Randi worked as an administrative assistant at the State Bank of Townsend for 23 years. She was fond of her co-workers and enjoyed her work there. Later in life, Randi loved to spoil her four grandchildren with hugs and cookies. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and liked to share stories of them with others.
Randi loved camping, fishing, and hunting. She and her family enjoyed drives in the mountains and sitting by the lake. She was an avid gardener, and her beet pickles were deemed the “best ever” by many who tried them. One of her greatest joys was cooking for anyone who crossed her doorstep.
Randi was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruth Davis. She is survived by her loving husband Cal, son Jeff (Heather) Nehring of Manhattan, daughter Kim (Dave) Ryan of Helena, grandchildren Taylor, Britney, Alec, and Michael, great-grandchildren Zoe, Leighton, and Levi, brothers Bill (Lila) Davis of Townsend, Don (Nancy) Davis of Townsend, and John (Evelyn) Davis of Helena.
A memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Monday, December 19, at 3:30 at Trailhead Christian Fellowship Church at 20 Trailhead Drive in Townsend, Montana.

Janine Nehring says
Aunt Randi was the best at whipping up something to eat when we’d come to visit. Her smile and kind heart always so welcoming! She made fruit pizzas at Kim’s baby shower back in the day and then began my addiction to them..lol! We’ll miss our visits with her but knowing she’s at peace is of comfort. Cal, Jeff, Heather, Kim, Dave and your families you’re in our thoughts and prayers; our love is with you at this difficult time.
