It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Brown. Randy passed away as a result of medical complications on Wednesday morning, Jan 29th.
Prior to moving to Montana and starting Big B Ready Mix, Randy grew up working on the family dairy farm with his surviving brother Greg, and then graduated from Wilmot High School. After marrying his high school sweetheart Cathy Wertz, Randy served our country as a veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning he spent a majority of his life there working hard and helping others as a volunteer firefighter in Wisconsin, 12 of which as the chief of Wilmot Volunteer Fire Department.
After moving out to Montana in 1992, he and his wife Cathy, who passed away in 2009, lived in Townsend and continued to be a big part of the community. Randy was also a vital part of his church family for decades, serving the youth of the community and on the church’s elder board. You could always count on Randy for a good laugh and a joyful Spirit! Randy is survived by his 2 sons Aaron and Nate.
His celebration of life will be held February 7th at 11am at Mountain Valley Church in Townsend Montana with a lunch reception to follow.
