I’m love and miss you daddy. Give mamma lots of hugs and kisses for me.

Steve was the left defensive end, my twin brother Roy left defensive tackle, myself left inside linebacker, Larry Hackathorne over center, Steve Renko right inside linebacker, Richard Wolfe right tackle and Mike Roger’s right defensive end on our 1961 Wyandotte football team. We were as good as anyone in Kansas but got clobbered with injuries during our 5th game. We were undefeated until then. Very often Steve would look at Roy and ask him why nobody ran against our side and Roy would say Steve damn it We our better than the other side. It was also true. Steve was tenacious on defense. Just plain fearless no matter how much bigger the other side was. It was a pleasure to be your Dad’s teammate. I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my twin Roy a little over a year ago. Just know your Dad was a hell of a guy and an honor to know. Go bless. Roger
