Born December 2, 1924 to Henry and Jenny Verwolf in Veyland South Dakota.
When she was nine her family moved to Manhattan, Montana by train. She married Carl Karston Kolberg September 5, 1942. They had four children, Arnold, Roxie, Carlon and Sharon. In 1945 she and Carl bought a home in Toston, in 1962 they bought the farm in Crow Creek Valley and built a new home there. She raised calves, chickens and a garden. Carl died in 1990. She married Donald Gaylen in 1991, he died in 1999.
She was a member of the Rebeka Lodge of Three Forks and Radersburg.
She is survived by her children Arnold Kolberg, Roxie Anderson, Carlon Emch of Toston, Sharon (Kenneth) Antonson of Proctor, Montana and her pet companion Trixie.
Ruby and Carl traveled to Norway three times. In 2005 she traveled to Norway again with her daughters.
She had 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
Preceding her in death are her parents, four of her seven sisters. Her husbands, three grandchildren, one great grandson and her best friend and companion Hector Theriault.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 212 Broadway, Townsend. Interment will follow the funeral service at Deep Creek Cemetery. A friends and family gathering will follow the interment at Radersburg School.

Enjoy your next chapter of life grandma. Grow the biggest peonies ever and send me the seeds. I can remember who fun fishing and Dipnetting was for us and hope we can keep it up just like you did. I will never look at a jar with eyeballs in it as we did in dads boat , I am sure you and Mom are laughing your tails off about it too.
