I want to thank Betsy Salois and Gary Bears for sitting at Sarah’s bedside for two days and a night so she wouldn’t be alone. Thank you.

My Aunt Sarah was such an awesome person. I miss the days when she used to come to Deer Lodge to visit my Mom (Violet Warren). They so enjoyed getting together to visit. It was fun to listen to all the stories from when they were younger. They got together one week & made me a beautiful quilt. My Mom couldn’t see much and Aunt Sarah had trouble doing the hand stitching because of her arthritis, but they managed to do it. I will treasure it forever! Aunt Sarah loved to talk & was very friendly. I remember taking her to the store one night & she came out & started talking to this guy. I thought she knew him, but she said “Oh no, I don’t know him, I was just saying hi & we started to visit.” HA I will cherish all these memories & miss her very much.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to say about my Aunt Sarah. It’s not that I can’t think of things to say there is just so much. If you gave her a gift she made you feel like it was the best gift she ever received. Every item she had from someone she cared about ,was special. It didn’ matter if it was a cup with with a glued on handle that was her mothers or a small piece of fabric that a neighbor gave her. She treasured it. She was a person that gave of herself and never expected any thing in return. My Dad was 40 when he had his first heart attack. I can’t even began to know how much help she gave my Mom and Dad during this difficult time ,but I know we never had a Birthday or Christmas withtout a present. For my 16th birthday she sent money so I could have a dress to go to the Junor prom. I have the doll she gave when I was 6 and the fan she brought me from Alaska.
Her memory was great. One we would all like to have. She remembered everyones birthday, grandchildren, great grandchildren brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, greats and great greats. aunts, uncles friends and………. She kept track of all of us. She kept us connected. She kept us a family.
Thank you Aunt Sarah I am going to miss you so much!!
