Terrick Lucas Johnson of Townsend died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident north of Fort Benton, Montana early Saturday morning September 12, 2015. He was 16 years of age.
Terrick was born in Helena, Montana July 20, 1999 to Clifford W. and Jennifer K. (Giuffre) Johnson. He received his elementary education in Townsend and was currently a junior in Townsend High School at the time of his death. He did not hate school but had a strong dislike for some of it. The worst part for him was getting up in the morning. His favorite classes were Advanced PE, Shop, weight lifting and lunch.
When a young man dies, his good points are remembered, the same is true for Terrick. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tease people, loved to laugh, he was very charismatic, stubborn yet kind, and had a very confident mind set. He made friends with everyone he met and made them feel special. He was happiest when he was helping others in need. He loved fast cars, loud music, and the great outdoors of Montana. He enjoyed shooting, four wheeling, fishing, hunting, football, hiking and playing his guitar.
Upon graduating from high school, Terrick had aspirations of serving his country by enlisting in the United States Army, then starting a career as a Lineman following in his father’s footsteps.
Terrick is survived by his parents, Clifford and Jennifer (Giuffre) Johnson of Townsend; sister Sadie (Michael) Guthrie of Townsend; his paternal grandparents Richard and Diane Johnson; maternal grandfather, Leonard “Jeff” Giuffre and his partner, Marge Ditch; uncle Matt (Kelly) Giuffre; Jon (Kristen) Johnson; paternal great-grandmother Alice McGaw and by many extended family, relatives and friends. He was preceeded in death by his uncle Lucas Tearle Johnson; maternal grandmother Roberta (Katie) Giuffre; and paternal great-uncle Gordon McGaw .
Terrick was much loved and will be greatly missed. All the memories and love could be written in volumes.
Public visitation hours will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 212 Broadway Street in Townsend on Tuesday, September 15th. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16th at Trailhead Christian Fellowship Church. Cremation will follow the service. Interment will be at a later date at Deep Creek Cemetery in Townsend.

Terrick,
Who’s going to remind me what a sad excuse of a Senior I was, letting the Freshman pick on me?
I couldn’t wait for you and Shawn to finally be in high school so I could give you guys as much heck as you always managed to give me, but you figured out a way to turn the tables. As always.
I don’t think I can count how many times I had to pick my books up off the floor or how many pens and pencils I went through because you “needed to borrow one.” Somehow, every day.
Needless to say, I will never forget you or that laugh of yours, nor will I forget how you accepted me as more than just your sister’s friend and all the memories the four of us made together – especially “mudding” in the middle of the night or when we all got in trouble in the camper. Just two of my favorites that I’ll be sure to hold onto forever because they were full of nonstop laughter.
I love you, you booger. Until we meet again, give yourself a noogie for me. ❤
Jerry Brown says

Our hearts ache and reach out to each of you…Terricks family and friends. You have shared so many of your wonderful memories and thoughts of Terrick…his smile, his friendliness and warmth to all, his joy and great sense of humor and love of the outdoors. How we all wish he had more time to spread his love of life to many more but it is clear that the lives he did touch in his 16 years will carry on his wonderful memories forever.
You and we have had to sadly say goodbye but those loved ones who have gone before him are happy to welcome him to his forever home.
Steve and Rose Ellen Dempsey says
We think that God just loans every parent their children, so when he calls them,
and they have to leave us to go home, what an empty hole is left in our hearts.
Please fill it with all the wonderful memories that you and Terrick have made in
his short 16 years. Our deepest condolences go out to all of you, but you will
all be together again.
Liz Vanderhoef says
My condolences to the family of Terrick. I miss him so much that I see him in strangers. I see him in everything. He is my best friend. We went to elementary school together. We caught up a while ago and kept talking. He was a great guy and still is. I loved him like family and I wished everyday I could be there with him. We made plans, dreams, and adventures together. I’m miss him more than anything. He meant the world to me and I will never forget him. He touched my soul and made me a better person. He has a part of my soul up in heaven with him.
Marge Erickson says
Cliff & Jen, Richard & Diane,
I am so very sincerely sorry for your loss. The loss of a child is the worst that can happen to you, and when it happens twice it is crushing. Unfortunately I too have lost sons and a granddaughter. Lucas is buried close to my husband and boys. It sounds like Terrick was such a delightful boy to know. We are so blessed with our children and are left with so many wonderful memories. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other & keep those memories close. Cliff & Jen, your message from Richard and Diane is so spot on. They will be there to help you I’m sure. God Bless you all.
Marge Erickson
Karen and Chuck Tillotson says
I will always remember the extremely cute little boy would stay at my house even though he was allergic to cats. The hide and go seek games he and Sadie would play with my kids. When he would be over at my house in his teenage years he always filled it with laughter. My heart aches at this terrible loss. He will be so missed. But he made our life better being in it.
Jerry Hystad says
Cliff, You and your family are going through something nobody should have to go through. Jan and I lost Craig, our oldest son, in 1986 to a car bicycle accident. It is life changing. It takes a long time to adjust. You won’t get over it, but you will learn to live with it. We started a compasstionate friends group in Great Falls at the time, and found a lot of support there. Tears are God’s relief valve. Don’t be afraid to shed them. I still do at times. My God hold You and your family in his hands.
