Thomas Edwin Casswell passed away peacefully on December 8, 2012 at Elkhorn Health Center in Clancy. He was born January 11, 1934 in Portland, Oregon. Tom enjoyed people and would talk to anyone especially when it came to vintage cars. Tom served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with medical problems that lasted a life time. For a while he was a cameraman in Hollywood; radio talk show host at Harrah’s in Reno, but his greatest passion was selling cars. Tom and Linda were married September 14, 1991. In 1997 Tom moved Linda back home to Townsend. He became a member of the Masons, Valley Lodge #21, Past Master. He enjoyed the Brotherhood and was very proud to be a member. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 42, and he helped the Townsend Boy Scouts.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Linda, his “pals” Brutus, and Spike, step daughters; Penney Sabouin of Vancouver, Washington and Nikki Moore of McKinleyville, California, his son; Thomas E. Casswell Jr. of Texas,his mother-in-law; Phyllis Stanley of Redding, California, his grandsons; Andrew, Stone, Bryce Sabourin, Frankie Grosch and Little Joey Gatlin (Moore), loving cousins; Carolyn and Jouh Hudlow of Vancouver, Washington and their families. Tommy will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
Graveside services with military honors and Masonic rites will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Ft. Harrison Cemetery in Helena with a reception following at the Townsend Masonic Hall. Contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children Transportation Fund, Wounded Warriors, or charity of choice.
