Valerio Bruno, age 65, of Martinsdale

January 28, 1954 – December 13, 2019

Valerio Bruno, age 65, of Martinsdale, passed away December 13, 2019.

Valerio Bruno, beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother and dearest friend went to be with the lord on Dec. 13, 2019. Valerio will be dearly missed every day by so many. He was great man that cherished family and friends above all else.

Valerio was born on January 28, 1954 in Peru. He came to he U.S. in 1975 where he worked as one of the most respected and knowledgeable herdsman in the country. He was the sheep foreman on the Snowcrest Ranch for many years in Southwest Montana, creating relationships that will never be forgotten.

He lived and worked on the Bair Ranch since 1993, where he dedicated his time and effort to make the Bair Ranch one of the best-known operations for quality sheep in all the country. He took pride in his work and expected everyone to give their best. No matter if it was lambing, working cows, branding, or haying he was always willing to go above and beyond in all aspects of ranch and work life.

He will always be in our hearts and can never be replaced.

Valerio was a hard worker who knew how to raise sheep. While I was secretary of the Woolgrowers association I was privileged to meet Valerio. I
Enjoyed visiting with him at convention and ram sale

My sympathies to his wife and family. A good man.

Valerio worked for and with my family on the Snowcrest Ranch for close to 20 years – a generation. He was kind and gentle and decent. My family loved and respected him. My Dad thought him to be the very best “sheepherder” in Montana; (In my family, the term “sheepherder” is the highest respect.)

Valerio was the man in charge, so when he left to go to work for the Bair Ranch, it left a huge hole never filled.

My condolences to his family and his friends.

Valerio was one of the best sheep men I knew. While at the Snowcrest Ranch we saw each other on the road many times as I was camp tending for our ranch. We had many roadside chats discussing what ranchers do… weather and predators. The soccer matches in the sheep corral were good memories when our ranch challenged theirs. I will always have fond memories of Valerio. My condolences to the family. John Helle
