Vaughn Roy Hoveland, born in Helena, MT on May 22nd 1953 to parents Henry and Lois Hoveland of Marysville MT. Vaughn’s greatest joy in life were the moments cherished with his children and grandchildren. The presence of others always brought him so much joy.
Vaughn was a true Montana boy who enjoyed going on long drives, golfing, fishing, gardening, hunting, and listening to music. Vaughn spent many years traveling to provide for his family, in the construction industry operating heavy equipment. He was able to spend time teaching his children his work ethic and talent as a heavy equipment operator.
His greatest pride was to watch his grandkids participate in sporting events. Not only was he supporting his grandkids but countless kids in the community knew who he was from his bubbly personality and his support he gave them as well.
Vaughn is survived by his children Felisha, Josh (Rachel), Justin (RaeAnn) Hoveland and Jeremy (Candice) Lessley. Grandchildren Jordyn, Trey, Trenton, Rylan, Kayla, Alexis, Taeler, Bryce, and Braydon, Grandbunnies Sky and Nog. Great grandkids, Ella, Hunter, Addilynn, and Matthew.
Surviving brothers Skip, Brent, and Arlin Hoveland.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28th in the 4H Building at the Fairgrounds, 189 Highway 12, Townsend, MT 59644. A reception will be begin at 12:00 p.m. at Old Baldy Golf Course, 99 Delger Rd., Townsend, MT 59644.

Arlin, Brent and Skip – Many memories of Vaughn from Marysville – just a year or two ago wasn’t it? He was a great guy – always Happy and laughing. He kept me from smacking a few people at the Marysville House with his quick wit and humor. He will be missed – Hugs to you all…

Vaugh was such an amazing person…he always had a smile on his face and so appreciative of anything you did for him. He was as giving a person as there is…always willing to help out. His face would beam when he spoke of his children & grandchildren.
The world will miss his light. Take care

Hoveland boys! So sorry to hear the news but so glad to have had Uncle Pig, the Mayor of Marysville, as a pal. Don’t know many people who were able to wring more enjoyment out of life. I remember skiing at Big Sky, softball and 4 wheeling in a Landcruiser. Remember listening to an REO song that said “wild as the Western wind” and he said ” that’s pretty wild!” All the best to you guys who are left to carry on the Hoveland tradition!

Wont be able to make it to the funeral but wanted all of you to know I felt like he was a big part of my life. He helped teach me things I would of never known without him. He will be greatly missed and I will carry him in my heart forever.

My husband worked with Vaughn in the Roosevelt Utah area running heavy equipment. They became fast friends and never lost touch, Vaughn never spoke ill of a single person and my husband admired that. He bragged and spoke highly of his son Josh whom also worked with him in Utah. He will be missed and thoughts and prayers to the hoveland family
Deepest sympathy

I would like to thank everyone for all of the kind words and support through this time of sadness. If you were not able to make it to his service this past weekend, let me be the first to tell you it was a great celebration of his life. It was so awesome to see how many lives my father was a part of. The story’s were non stop with laughter and joy, just as he always requested.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or story’s about my father.
