William E. Wetterling was born December 18, 1929 in Glen Flora, Wisconsin to Grace and Emil Wetterling, the fourth of 11 children. He passed away at the Broadwater Nursing Home in Townsend, Montana on July 23, 2017.
William had served in the U.S. Army in 1952 through 1954, stationed at Karlsruhe and Eschwege, Germany; he had reached the rank of Corporal. He later lived in many areas, including Amana, Iowa, White Sulphur Springs and Checkerboard, Montana; where he held jobs in logging, ranching and truck driver.
William is survived by his wife Mary Lou Wetterling of Checkerboard, 4 children and 3 sisters. He is also survived by many step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two wives and one stepson preceded him in death.
